Lathe Project: Make a Coffee Scoop

Downloads

Any coffee lover will appreciate this project; a custom turned coffee scoop. The turning process is pretty straight forward, but there are some tricks in mounting the blank and fastening the scoop to the wooden handle. Decaf or regular, this scoop will help keep your coffee habit satisfied.

An awful lot of turning projects lately . Ive been missing the general woodworking aspect of this site. Is the direction of this place headed towards mainly turning ?

No, we’re not moving toward being turing-specific. But when it comes to gift making, which we’re highlighting this time of year, the lathe lends itself to quickly made gifts. However, we’ve also got the recently published Ring Box and Magazine Storage boxes. Another gift idea will be out this week that isn’t a turning project. But, thanks for pointing this out. We’ll make sure to keep the project ideas well rounded.

George, thanks for the great gift ideas on the lathe!! I like the fact that they are quick and easy. Who needs more pressure during this time of year and besides time in the shop is supposed to be relaxing and fun. My family and friends appreciate receiving shop made gifts rather something made offshore. Thanks again for the great ideas!!

Glad you like it! As far as I’m concerned there’s no such thing as too much coffee, so I love this project. 🙂
