It’s common to run into scenarios where you need a work surface, but you don’t want to burn up floor space by permanently adding a workbench to your shop. Bora’s Centipedes provide excellent solutions for this problem.
What’s available?
In this video we’re working with the 2×4 Centipede, but you can also get it as a 4×4, 4×6 or 4×8. The Centipede base has an MDF top, and we’re working with the following accessories: non-slip discs, cord hooks, 6” extensions, and wide panel supports.
Lots of versatility
The Centipede bases are great. The addition of their accessories makes them even more versatile.
The non-slip discs do just what their name says. When you have them in the table top you can place your work on top of the discs and rout or sand it without your work sliding all over the place.
The cord hooks engage with the base of the Centipede and provide a handy spot for your extension cords or air hoses, making housekeeping easy.
If the Centipede base is a little lower than what you need (it’s 30” tall), add the 6” extensions and raise your work to a new level.
Use the wide panel supports when you’re cutting large panels to size with a track saw or similar so the panel doesn’t collapse in on itself after the cut is complete.
We reviewed the Centipede in a previous Showcase. Have a look at that video.
