Do you have your hand saws professionally sharpened? I’m trying to determine if it’s cost effective over just buying a relatively inexpensive new one?

      Hello Steven,

      Thank you for contacting us.

I use Japanese style handsaws with replaceable (non-sharpenable) blades. If I had a traditional western style backsaw, I would have it professionally sharpened. I don’t use my handsaws enough to think about cost effectiveness very much. In 25 years of using Japanese saws, I have accumulated 3 of them, and replaced a blade only one time.

If you have any other questions, please chat, email, or call Customer Service.

      Sincerely,

      Sarah
