MicroJig's New Lock Miter Bit
George VondriskaJoin George Vondriska on Thursday, May 22nd at 11:00 a.m. CT/12:00 p.m. ET for a FREE LIVE event! A lock miter is a cool joint, but people can get VERY frustrated trying to make one. MicroJig has created a completely new approach to setting up a lock miter router bit, promising it removes all the guesswork. Does this new system work? Let's find out. George will be using the MicroJig lock miter bit and FitFinder.

Can you recommend a router table/fence combination? I have used this style bit ( not microjig's as it didn't exist) and struggled with keeping the boards tight against the fence on a smaller bench top table. I'm thinking a 32" table top would be best for something like this to give the boards more stability as it moves across the bit.
Thank you for the tip to first cut two side down test pieces. It just made my setups easier. If the fence is intentionally too far forward for the first test, the gap between the tip of the miter and the fence is the dimension to move the fence backward to complete the joint.
what would you recommend as a ,micro adjuster for a router table fence?
Does this Jig work with any manufacturers router bit?
if you use this for drawer boxes how do you add the groove for drawer bottom
Not a discussion, but a comment: these are great for quartersawn oak to show the tiger lines on all four sides for legs of arts & crafts furniture. Great breakdown of the setup.
