      Hi Frank,

Thanks for asking, I have not heard yet if we will rerun this contest or not. Usually they are a one and done.

      Sorry.

Had fun with the project. Made 20 sets for neighbors and family across the country. Dark Pine Stain vs paint gave them a more realistic look

Do we upload a picture of the reindeer, and if so, where’s the link to upload? Thanks

      Hello Daniel!

If you’re looking to upload from a computer, there will be a section at the top right that has a countdown and underneath that, it says “Upload photos here.” It’s a button that you’ll click to upload your items!

      Best of luck!

I lost all my woodworking tools (along w/ home & everything else in the “Camp” fire) so this should be a fun challenge with the few tools I have at this point and no shop/garage to do it in! Just need to close in a side or 2 next to my make shift bench under the front of my 5th wheel! Back to basics! Thanks for the opportunity!

I actually made this same Reindeer about 25 years ago. Made a number of different sizes, mostly out of Cherry and Ash. Lovely little project and my wife displays them in our curio cabinet.

I really had fun with this project and got carried away a bit. I used up all the scrap 2 x 4s I had in my shop and ended up with 30 Reindeer. Great giveaways.

I really enjoyed making this piece. It was my first attempt at cutting a 3-D object. I usually build things out of 2-D pieces. It was fun learning a new skill. I will definitely make more.

It appears some people are not following instructions. I believe you have to use the prescribed pattern, NOT do your own thing. You cant carve one or use a different pattern, Correct??????

I am trying to get the pattern and I see your responses to others about a link BUT as of Monday Dec 9th, I can not find that link. I just get taken to this page. Perhaps in your reply, you can include the link so others who may be having the same issue can easily click on it and actually get to it. Thank you very much!

There is no “DOWNLOAD THE REINDEER PATTERN HERE” option. The only option is a download button which leads to this page … I see this comment multiple times with the same answer. We must be looking at different pages …?

If you’re having trouble getting to the competition page where you can download the plans – try a different browser – I was using Brave and the link in the email just took me to the Discussion section – nothing else. I tried Chrome, IE and Edge and it works ….

I have printed pattern and notice that the reindeer in the contest picture have 4 separate legs. Is there a cutting diagram missing? The pattern makes a reindeer with front and back legs each being one piece. Thanks for your help.

      Hi Jenelle,

Great eye! You’re right; the template doesn’t have the cutouts for the legs, but you can do this if you want to. It just requires a simple cut to remove the waste. From the perspective of the contest, don’t feel as though you need to remove that waste, but if you like that look better, please feel free to do so. I’ve made a bunch of these and never removed the waste to create the four-legged look.

If you’re on your computer it’s at the top left of the screen. It’s a little red wooden reindeer.
If you’re on a mobile device, it would be at the top of the page.

      Hi there Reynald!

What device are you looking at the page on? Computer, mobile phone, or tablet?

The page sounds like it’s stuck in a loop so if you’re on a computer, just press CTRL + F5 at the same time on your keyboard and this will fix 95% of any tech issue you might be having.

If you’re still having issues, please let us know!

      Hi there Michele!

I went ahead and tested the link to ensure that it is working properly and had a co-worker of mine test it on their end as well. The download link is working properly so what I would do is press CTRL + F5 on your keyboard, at the same time, because it sounds like your internet browser is stuck in an error loop.

If that doesn’t resolve the issue, please let us know right away by email, chat, or call us at 1-855-253-0822.

I started making these years ago. I got the pattern from Shopsmith’s Hands-On booklet (back when they still sent them out). My mom keeps her set out all year and puts different ribbons around the neck based on the season. You can flip the pattern around and get deer facing both directions. I even made a scaled down version to have baby deer.

I enjoyed this project. It is the first one I have tried in a hardwood, pecan. I hade about a dozen out of scrap 2×4’s and they have been very popular as giveaways. Thanks for making the pattern available.
