Rockler Box Joint Jig

Reviewing the Router Table Box Joint JigThe new Router Table Box Joint Jig from Rockler, $79.99, looks easy to use. Once it’s secured on your router table (the table must have a 3/4″ miter slot), an aluminum index key is used for positioning. The right angle backer acts like a miter gauge to guide the material past the router bit. The jig can be used to cut 1/4″, 3/8″, and 1/2″ finger joints. The index keys for all three sizes are included with the jig. You’ll need to secure your own sacrificial board to the right angle backer. The backer is predrilled for this purpose.

At the demo two weeks ago, they were having problems with the new slots sliding over metal bar. Turn out the up cut spiral bit was slightly less the .25″…other Rockler spiral bits were the same. Might try a Freud bit.
