I have a tablesaw with a 5/8 inch arbor. Can I make a 1/2 inch dado on that tablesaw as long as I can get it to fit on the arbor.

What's the white roll up hanging over your head?

Veritas block plane gives a choice of blades A2, O1 or PM-V11. Would like to know what this means,

I recently built a table top for my kids using oak. Process I followed was: * Danish oil flood and wipe off * Waited 72 hours and then applied a shellac wipe coat * Waited 24 hours and used AquaCoat grain filler to level out the surface. Applied aqua coat 3x and sanded lightly in between coats * Finished with a water based poly The problems that arose: I think the poly raised the grain so there are bumps in the finish, but worse is that the top is bleeding danish oil. If you put paper down on the finish, it blots up all sorts of danish oil that's leaking through. What are some possible things I did wrong and/or how could I avoid this in the future?

I am having trouble finding a solution for a good clear finish on stained wood of different varieties for outdoor furniture that can withstand harsh sun and some occasional rain. I have used marine spar varnish but find that leaves a bit of a sticky finish when it gets warm outside. Any suggestions?
