   George, my pet peeve with such sanders even the drum versions are the belts clogging up quickly and rendering them useless, any tips?

     Hello. Some woods clog abrasives more quickly than others. I use this abrasive cleaning stick A LOT http://amzn.to/2uIhHMZ
     If you wait too long to use it the natural resins in the wood, which have migrated to the abrasive, will heat up and clog the paper to a point where you can’t clean it. Frequent use of the cleaner will go a long way toward extending the life of any sandpaper.
