Checking in
Hello
I use the same principles you teach for the drawer lock bit.
So you only have to make the zero clearence 1/4 in?
How do you do zero clearance
I have a wood shaper-does speed of cut make any difference when cutting these rabbits?
Could you use a drill bit in place of the bar stock?
So you have to add 1/2″ to both dimensions for actual size of drawer because of the 1/4″ joinery, right?
Would that joint be ok for building boxes such as jewelry boxes?
Yep, it’d work fine for that.
I have seen you do this three ways; table saw, router with 1/4 inch slot cutter and 1/4 inch regular dado router bit. which do you prefer?
I like the slot cutter in the router table the best.
Are there different size slot cutters…. 1/4 for 1/2 ply and 3/8 for 3/4 ply, etc?
Yep, just check with the router bit manufacturer. You can get slot cutters in different sizes.
If you use a dado on table saw, how do you handle the chipping
My dado head doesn’t chip plywood. However. you can also make a zero clearance insert for your table saw that would act just like the zero clearance fence.
Any gap in joint depth for glue clearance ?
Use the fit guidelines I provided here, and you’ll be fine.
Where on the web site can I find video
