If you’re getting a lot of catches and tears, you could be using the wrong chisel. A negative rake chisel is great for working with epoxy resin, as well as exceptionally hard woods. George will be using a round chisel equipped with a negative rake cutter, and a square chisel also equipped with a negative rake cutter. Join us for some amazing shavings as George turns his epoxy project and shows you what a difference it makes when you use the right tool for the job.

Hi George, Having discovered that my normal turning do NOT provide the best results and cause unexpected "results". I have obtained the NR tips which reduces the surprises but do you have any advice keeping the quality of the cut good on the epoxy projects combined with softer woods? I find that the NR chisels leave a much rougher surface requiring more sanding. thanks
