Good suggestion. I also use an old credit card with one edge cut with a pinking shear
What's the best way to clean the threaded rod of the Glue when your done
Frustrating to waste over a minute for a useless commercial to watch a one minute tip
Does using a threaded rod make a difference? Would a smooth-surfaced rod be any better or worse?
I devised a similar technique about 15 or 20 years ago based on an article I read, (probably in Wood Magazine). I salvaged the saw-tooth cutter from a wax paper or Saran Wrap dispenser and cut off a three inch piece. I then epoxied the piece, tooth side out, on the end of a ¼ x 6” x 3” wood strip with the teeth overhanging. I then used your method of applying and spreading the glue. It worked great but, I will now use your method. A threaded rod is more adaptable with variable width stock. Thank you for the suggestion. Frank Ashe
I liked the threaded rod for spreading glue. I have found that old business cards work well too. They have the added benefit of no clean up.
