Hi Warren, I built a gun cabinet out of an old cedar chef-robe that belonged to my grandmother. It has double doors for easy access inside. I added 2 shelves for ammo and accessories and cleaning kits. It still had the original skeleton key set with it which means I can lock it up at night. Also there is no glass in it, but there is a mirror in each door. I’ve got 42 different rifles and several hand guns stored in it with ammo and accessories. I’ve since then found another cabinet and converted it for some other toys I’ve acquired in the past couple of years. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me.

I am in the process of building an entry door from quarter sawn African Mahogany. The door is a frame door with a large insulated glass to be installed. What is the best sealant or weather stripping to be used to seal the glass on the exterior side of the door. I have used mortise and tenon joints and want to assure the door lasts for years. Thanks for your help. I enjoy the website and my platinum membership. Waymon Creamer

Hi Waymon. We primarily focus on in-shop woodworking, so I don’t have much experience with exterior sealants. That said, this is the stuff that I use for exterior projects and it works extremely well: https://amzn.to/2ZeUEn6
If you require something that is clear, I suggest a 100% pure silicone product such as this: https://amzn.to/2ZaSGZ6
