I cannot find a drawing that shows the location for the mortises so I am in the dark as to location of the top of the legs to the rails. I did see a 1/4″ spacer is used during assembly so can I assume this is a gap between the table top and that the legs do not contact the bottom of the table top? Thanks.
Hi Rick. Sorry for the omission and thanks for your question. The top of the mortises are placed 1.5″ from the top of the leg, and 3/4″ from the inside edge. You will be receiving an email with a picture attached to help clear up any remaining question.
Thanks

Thank Becky! Got it and already cutting down the legs!
how do you access the plans? I’m ready to start building
I really have enjoyed this website – George is an amazing craftsman – my bucket list includes having the opportunity to take a hands on course with George – one can always dream. What do they say – dream big or go home.
Love those curves.
Seems simpler than it is.
Please send me the plans

Please use hearing protection.
Would a spindle sander be OK or is there too much risk in going past the line?
Thank you for your inquiry, and for the reminder on the hearing protection. I was sorry to see that I had them around my neck but not on my ears. I am normally a stickler on this but I goofed.
As far as a spindle sander, yes, you can use this for this operation. I would suggest using the largest diameter spindle that you have, and really take your time. If you apply too much pressure on the workpiece, you will end up with a rippling effect on your surface which will cause an uneven appearance that can become quite pronounced after you apply finish. I would also follow up the spindle sanding with a random orbital sander which should help clean up any minor unevenness.
I new to your website it look good I yous to build houses for about 25 years and now I want to build furniture it’s definitely a lot harder. Thanks
Looks interesting.
just a begginer
