A knife block is a great gift project that you can easily build in less than a day. This compact knife block was designed to fit a limited counter space, eliminate some knife clutter and house the knives used only on a weekly basis, and also features an accessible spot for the handy kitchen scissors.

There’s a slight 15-degree angle to the block that gives a clear view of the knives but keeps them up out of reach of untrained hands. The design consists of basically two parts: a central block core and a pair of curved outer layers that act as stabilizers but give some style to an otherwise blocky shape.

It appears that the author used oak, but you could use whatever wood you wanted to. I made one of these and I used walnut for the two outside pieces and the scissor holder, and maple for the interior pieces. Cherry would be a good choice as well.

I am logged into my account. when I try to download a plan on my pc nothing happens but some adverts pop up at the top of the page. When I try to download the plan on my phone a banner appears at the top saying download now, when you push that it is some rubbish trying to get me to agree to pay a dollar a day for some bs games that I have no interest in. Seems like this is not legit.

Hello and thank you for your question, and for being a premium member. I’m sorry to hear that you are experiencing this problem. On the link that you provided, there should be a red button just to the right of the photo that says “download plan” (see attachment). If that button is there, my guess is that you are not logged in with your premium membership ID. When I clicked on that button, the plan downloaded immediately with no further steps required.
I have built this project as well, and I love it. Contact us again if you continue to have this problem and we will get you squared away.
