How to Tri-Fold a Bandsaw Blade

Tri-folding (coiling) a band saw blade will reduce its storage size greatly. If you’ve been mystified about how to make this happen, here are the steps:

How To Tri-Fold a Band Saw Blade1) Wear leather gloves and a face shield. Hold the blade like this. Notice my right hand is turned over, palm facing out, and the palm of my left hand is facing in.

How To Tri-Fold a Band Saw Blade2) Hold the blade very tight. Rotate your right hand inward and around until the blade and your hands look like this, both palms facing in.

How To Tri-Fold a Band Saw Blade3) Make one more half rotation of your right hand, then bunch up the three loops so it looks like this. Give it a try. It’s pretty easy to do after you’ve learned the steps.

This is the same procedure for putting an easy up tent away. Before realizing this my wife, my buddy’s wife and I were all trying to reduce an unruly tent. My buddy, a truck drive and the only one of us without a college degree ask,” How many college folks does it take to put the tent away?” The answer, 3 plus a trucker.

I prefer to hold the bandsaw uncoiled, lay one end on the floor, hold that end with my foot, then with the hand held end twist and bend down to the floor.
