I'm currently working on some built in cabinets for our house. How are you using your woodworking skills and tools to improve your home?

I recently built-in a drawer unit for my wife's closet. The idea and general plans came from The Family Handyman magazine. I modified the plans for this project. I had some left-over plywood from another project and used two different species of plywood for the drawer fronts. I didn't notice the radical grain difference until I stained and finished the fronts. That taught me to pay close attention to grain differences that may not be so conspicuous until the finish is applied. Thankfully the drawer unit is covered by the closet doors most of the time, and my wife hasn't complained. Thanks for your very helpful web site.
