I just received my 2nd Woodworkers Guild DVD. I was wondering how many DVD's there are total in the set and what each topic/subject is.

    Dear Smoothmf,

We are continuing to create DVDs for the Complete Woodworking Video Collection. Future topics include advanced cabinet making, table saw and band saw techniques, and cutting logs into lumber using a backyard sawmill. We would love to hear from you on what topics you would like to see in future DVDs. Email us at editor@wwgoa.com.

Just as a reminder, our program is a 100% satisfaction guaranteed program. You always have the opportunity to preview the DVD to decide whether or not you wish to purchase it and you can return the DVD if you don't want to purchase. There are also no minimum number of DVDs you have to purchase, and you can cancel your participation in the program at any time - no questions asked.

I too, just received my first DVD ("Essential Woodworking Techniques") and really enjoyed it. I realize you are continuing to build the selection of available videos, and I applaud that effort. In the meantime, I would be interested in receiving any videos that have already been created in addition to "Essential Woodworking Techniques". In other words, is there any way that I can get "caught up" so that I have all of the DVD's that you have so far produced?

When it comes to articles, we've got the whole WWGOA website for you to choose from. Don't forget the site is searchable, which will quickly get you to video clips or stories that pertain to your query.

Remember, too, our video articles. They provide a great bridge between watching instructional video and having a print article you can take to your shop. Learn more about them here http://www.wwgoa.com/video-articles/ and purchase them here http://www.wwgoa.com/shop/category/6/video-article/

I have recently gotten the first 3 videos in this collection. In DVD 1, a wall cabinet is created. Is there a plan for this cabinet available online that shows the dimensions of the cabinet contructed in the video? This would be helpful as I design a set of cabinets for my shop.

Just wanted to say how much I enjoyed your Essential Woodworking Techniques Video. I think this one is the first of the series. It covered the construction of a single wall cabinet. I’m not sure how I came about having it. It has “Woodworker’s Journal” across the top of the disc so I assume it was included in a promotional offer. My mailbox is jammed up with woodworking related offers so I didn’t take it seriously. The DVD floated around my shop for months. I popped it in and watched it, nonstop, straight thru. Often I nod off during woodworking videos due to repetitious coverage of basic skills. No yawns here. I appreciate how you cover the basics without making the viewer feel like they are in kindergarten, yet still appeal to the intermediate and above woodworker. I like the video so much I searched and found WWGOA and will be purchasing the entire set.

Thanks for the nice comments on the DVD. We work hard to make the content complete and thorough (and at least a little fun), and it's great to hear from viewers who appreciate it.

George: I just reviewed the Cabinet Making Techniques: the next level. I did enjoy the dvd and plan to keep it for its content, but I am wondering how you get a drawer bottom into an assembled drawer carcass? You appear to have off camera cut a dado for the bottom but you do not talk about it until your closing statement. What is it made of? How big should it be? Is it glued in? etc.
    Thanks

I make the drawers so there's a groove for the bottom in the sides and front. The back is ripped narrow so I can assemble and fiinish the drawer box, then slip the finished drawer bottom in afterward. I nail or screw the drawer bottom to the bottom edge of the back only. I typically do not glue a drawer bottom in place.

I too have the Essential Woodworking Techniquest which is first class. I cannot remember how I received it but have watched it several times completely or in part. This is why I am signing up even though I am a relative beginner and don't make cabinets consistently. Actually I was looking for plans for a picnic table and stumbled on this web site. I have often wondered "where's George and other DVD's"?

I received the first DVD in the mail. I was impressed with the quality of the content and enjoyed it very much.

What are some of the videos already produced in the series?

Just started looking at the Shaker Sideboard DVD and would like to suggest that you show us WHAT you are building before starting to show techniques. I think that would help explain sequences better if we know what is being worked.

I don't have the DVD in front of me right now, but we always include an "open" in which I provide an overview of the project. Should be the first chapter of the DVD.

Yep, Chapter 1 does show the finished project. I apologize; my DVD started on Chapter 2 Edge Jointing for some reason.

    George,
I have 19 of the videos so far! I love 'em! The information you provide is thorough and clear. The jigs, tips and techniques you share are priceless! I like the fact that you have "woodworker's" hands and that it is easy to see that you enjoy what you do! In addition to being informative, your videos are fun to watch. It is always a pleasure to watch a skilled craftsman and I enjoy watching the videos over and over. Thanks so much!

George, I have been receiving the DVD series for quite a while now (12 dvds so far). I have been very ill lately and have lost track of the order my dvds were shipped to me. I really would like to watch them in the order in which I received them. Is there any way you could publish the shipping order of at least the first 12 dvds (if not the order of all the dvds you have published so far)? Many thanks for your efforts in publishing these excellent dvds. Leon

    admin,
The DVDs I have and the order I think I received them in is as follows:

    Essential Woodworking Techniques
    Furniture Making
    Cabinet Making Techniques
    Table Saw Techniques
    Beautiful Bedside Table <------------ ????????
    Essential Band Saw Techniques
Stowaway Bench, Shop Table & Flag Case
    Lathe Turning Essentials
    Chair Making Essentials <------------ ????????
Shop Storage Made Easy, Pen Turning Techniques & Round Stool
    Top Notch Finishing Techniques

    Impressive Picnic Table <------------ ????????

    Also, if I may ask:
I am disabled and have COPD (Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease).
I have been straining my eyeballs out, trying to read the vendor's name on that ventilated full-face dust mask that George wears in some of his DVDs. Could you please tell me where I might purchase one for myself?

    Thanks!

If you look at the back of the DVD case in the lower right corner (and on the dvd itself to the left) you will see a number
    50001D = Essential Woodworking Techniques
50002D = Furniture Making: Sectres, Skill and Techniques

    etc...
    etc...

If you put the numbers in order, you can watch them in order.

I noticed a few gaps in the numbers and will call Monday to find out if I'm missing DVD's or if that's just the way they are (I have 50 discs s far).....
