Trimming hollow core doors, usually on the bottom edge has nearly always left me with chipping, especially Birch veneer. I've tried scoring first; Taping then cutting and blade height; these methodes have all resulted in chipping on one side or the other. How do the pro's do it?

Try a router with a down cut spiral bit, and ride it against a clamped-on straight edge guide. Cut half way through from each face.
