What is the best way to get a professional look on new oak cabinet doors? I use a stain with 3 coats of poly. But In was told I needed a sealer due to the porous material of oak. This is a high profile project so I am looking for the correct info.

Porous woods like oak and mahogany will typically benefit from a grain filler being used under your final finish. The result will be a glassier, smoother finish than you'd otherwise get.

You can find grain fillers at woodworking specialty stores, and at specialty finishing stores, such as Sherwin Williams.
