The Preppin' Weapon is available at Hartvilletool.com in 5 difference colors (Purple being the fifth) at $16.98 each. I have all five with a different grit on each one. I also marked the top with a sharpie with the grit number. This makes sanding a "Good Thing".

$16.98 ?!?!?! EACH ?!?!?! joe, they saw you coming... Maybe $16.98 for a set of five and throw in a roll of 100 grit. But EACH? I think not.

HOW ABOUT 5 DIFFERENT BLOCKS OF WOOD? $84.90 PLUS TAX FOR THIS? I AGREE WITH COCOPUFFED.

yup, wood works for wood workers. you'd think WGA would know that.

Yep, necessity is the mother of invention. I've also wrapped abrasive around a block of wood for shop-made sanding block. Works great for coarse sanding, but when you're finish sanding, and/or sanding finish, you should use a block with a soft pad under the paper for the best results. Also, when sanding rounded edges, or using abrasive to produce a rounded edge, a sanding block with a soft pad leaves a more rounded corner, where a hard block tends to leave facets. Enough about sanding blocks. The purpose of these product reviews is to let viewers know about products in the marketplace, how they work, how much they cost, and where to get them. Each of you is welcome to decide if there's a fit for this product in your shop. As with students in my classes I enjoy showing your stuff I've used in my shop, and what it's high and low points are. And, it's always interesting to hear everyone's feedback. G

sorry george... that's what they make felt for. You know, when you stop wearing your fedora, just cut it up -- free! or go down to Mal- Wart and buy a yard of felt for $1.98. then you have enough for a hundred sanding blocks. or go to a trailer and RV accessory store and get a roll of rubberized shelf and drawer liner. It's also great as a non slip sanding ands routing surface. After all, that's what a lot of woodworkers do -- they SAVE money. these preppin wagon thingies are probably turned out in china for 3 cents each -- maybe in the u.s. they cost six cents. why the devil would anyone want to throw money away?
