George Vondriska Woodworking Seminars

CU WoodshopGeorge Vondriska is the director of the Wild Earth Woodworking School. In addition to classes at his own school, George teaches at woodworking shows across the country and has taught woodworking for Peace Corps/Swaziland, Andersen Windows, Northwest Airlines and the Pentagon. George has had numerous woodworking videos and magazine articles published, and will be at CU Woodshop Supply in Champaign, IL. for 3 days during our Fall Woodworking Event. You will enjoy and learn from his seminars. Cost is $20 per seminar, or $50 for 3.

Class Loose Tenon and Pocket Screw Joinery

Description Learn how to effectively use dowels, biscuits and dominos, and to combine them with pocket screws in your furniture and cabinetry projects. (Read George’s tool review in the August issue of Woodworker’s Journal.)

Class Cathedral Raised Panel Doors
Date Thursday, November 4 (Also offered Saturday, November 6 from 9 a.m. – 12 p.m.)
Time 2 – 5 p.m.

Description Overcome your intimidation of making cathedral raised panel doors. Watch a door being made, start to finish, and learn the secrets behind perfectly shaped panels and rails.

Class Drawer Construction
Date Friday, November 5 (Also offered Saturday, November 6 from 1 – 4 p.m.)
Time 9:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.
Location The DreamShop Classroom at CU Woodshop Supply
Description See three great approaches for drawer joinery: half-blind dovetails cut using a router-based jig, drawer lock joints cut on the router table and rabbetted drawer lock joints cut using a 1/4" slot cutter. With each joint technique, you'll get tips for set-up and cutting to ensure success.
